State Sen. Jon Ford to lead Reliable Energy

State Senator Jon Ford (R-Terre Haute) has confirmed that he will be resigning from his seat in the Indiana Senate, effective October 16, 2023. Ford, who has served in the Senate since 2014, made the announcement to focus on "new professional endeavors."

Ford will lead Reliable Energy Inc., a trade association formed in 2020 by Alliance Coal and Hallador Energy to advocate for Indiana’s coal industry and other energy producers. In a statement released on the Indiana Senate Republicans' website, Ford expressed his gratitude, saying, "I am thankful for the people of Vigo, Clay and Sullivan counties for trusting me in casting important votes on their behalf for nearly a decade. Through my time in public service, I have met numerous people who aim to make the Wabash Valley and Indiana a better place to raise a family."

On Monday, Greg Goode announced his candidacy to replace Ford in the Senate. Goode currently serves as the state director for U.S. Senator Todd Young (R-IN), a role he assumed in January 2023. Before this, he was the executive director of Government Relations and University Communication for Indiana State University.
